Studio Dennis recently had the privilege of contributing to the charm of Molong, a vibrant town just outside Orange, NSW. Known for its tight-knit community and scenic surroundings, Molong is a hidden gem that continues to thrive as part of the growing enthusiasm for regional areas in New South Wales.
Our journey to Molong was centered around creating a bespoke mural artwork for Lime & Stone. Tasked with transforming their back courtyard into an inspiring space, we developed a design that captures two iconic symbols of the town: the Magpie and the Platypus.
The Magpie holds special significance as the proud mascot of the Molong Magpies rugby team, uniting the community with its strength and spirit. Equally fascinating is the Platypus, a beloved local treasure that is frequently spotted in the creek running through town. It’s heartening to know that this unique Australian species thrives in Molong, a testament to the area’s environmental health and dedication to preserving its natural beauty.
Over a few rewarding days, we immersed ourselves in the town’s welcoming atmosphere, working to bring this vision to life. The result? A celebration of Molong’s identity, blending its cultural pride and natural wonders into a vibrant artistic statement for all to enjoy.
The enthusiasm and energy in Molong are palpable, reflecting a broader revitalization of regional NSW. Studio Dennis is proud to have contributed a small piece to this big picture, helping a beloved local business create a space that resonates with the community.
If you’re in the area, drop by Lime & Stone to see the mural and experience a piece of Molong’s charm firsthand!
